The Exotic Flavor of Nature in Every Bite.
Garcinia humilis, the charming achachairú, similar to the renowned mangosteen, is native to the southern Amazon basin of Bolivia. It is now also cultivated in the southeast of Brazil.
The beauty of achachá lies in its oval shape, up to 6 cm in length, ripening into a mesmerizing orange-reddish hue, making it both visually appealing and delicious.
The flavor of achachá, a blend of tangy and sweet reminiscent of lemonade, offers a unique and delightful culinary experience.
When stored outside the refrigerator, achachá can last 10 to 15 days at temperatures between 15–20 degrees Celsius, highlighting the importance of proper care to extend its freshness.
In addition to traditional consumption, the bright orange peels of the achachá can be transformed into a versatile liquid base for a refreshing summer drink.
Opening the achachá is effortless, as its rind easily breaks to reveal a juicy, edible pulp and a dark brown seed.
